Released by The Tyler Police Department:

On Monday night, January 30, 2012 Tyler Police arrested Kyle Garrett Williams who was wanted for Criminal Trespass.  Williams was taken into custody without incident and transported to Smith County Jail.

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Tyler police were called to Town Village South at 200 Muller Garden, apartment 627, around 5:43 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2012 on a 911 call from a female saying there was a male intruder in her apartment.

The 27-year-old victim stated that she was asleep with her small daughter when she heard a lot of banging inside her apartment.  She went to investigate and found a man inside her hot water heater closet trying to get out.  The male suspect told her he was just trying to get out and fled out the front door of her apartment.

Police recovered the suspect's wallet inside the utility closet.  Police then went to the suspect's apartment, within the same complex, to locate him.  At the suspect's apartment, police found the suspect's girlfriend who was under the influence of narcotics.  Officers observed in plain view crystal meth and heroin.  The female was identified as Mackenzie Leah Kerns, W/F, 04/26/1990.  Kerns was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The investigation led officers to believe that the boyfriend, known as Kyle Garrett Williams, W/M, 08/04/1981 was also under the influence of narcotics and had been chasing an imaginary person into his attic.  Williams fell through the attic into the crawl space of the female victim's apartment and removed a metal plate gaining access into her utility closet.

Tyler Investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for Williams for Criminal Trespass of a Habitation and are currently looking for him.

Anyone with information about Williams is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers, at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).  Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case, or any, felony case.
