LOUISVILLE , KY (WAVE) - A baby is in the hospital and the mother is in jail after police say they discovered five children living in deplorable conditions.

Victoria Hall, 24, faces five Class D felonies of Wanton Endangerment, in the 1st Degree.

Officers went to a home in west Louisville for an unrelated call and found some of the children covered in feces. Officers heard crying in another room while visiting the home, located in the 100 block of N. 45th Street. They were initially on scene for an unrelated call.

Once they checked out two of the rooms, police found a 3-month-old infant unrestrained in a car seat with a bottle full of spoiled milk and four other children covered in urine and feces, according to LMPD.

EMS personnel checked out the kids and transported the three-month-old to Kosair Children's Hospital.

Hall is accused of leaving her children alone for hours. Police said their ages range from 3-months to five-years-old.

Hall entered a plea of not guilty during her arraignment Saturday morning and is being held on a $50,000 bond. Her next court date is February 6.
