Planning on driving Hwy 31 this weekend? May want to think again

Posted: Updated:
SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

If you're traveling west on Highway 31 this weekend you might encounter some delays.

TxDOT crews are constructing the new bridge that will allow Loop 49 to pass over highway 31.

If you're traveling this way on Saturday, we're told the highway could be shut down while crews continue work on the bridge.

This span of the Loop, from Highway 155 to Highway 31 is expected to open later this year.
