SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - An ArkLaTex bank plans to help a family get their money back after someone cleaned out a special account set up to help pay their child's medical bills.
An identity thief reportedly took $700 from the fundraising account set up for Georgia Kate Poole, who was born with a rare eye disorder. Her sight was partially restored after several surgeries and months in a Houston hospital. Now seven months old, Georgia Kate underwent more surgery last week. She is said to be improving.
The Poole family says the bank is replacing the money.
