Smith Co. District Attorney courthouse dog arrives

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

It's the first day on the job for the new Smith County District Attorney's Courthouse dog.

Sophie, a 2-year-old yellow Lab, is getting acquainted with all the folks at the Smith County District Attorney's office today.

She is a facility dog, specially trained to comfort children as they testify. Sophie is from a company out of Oceanside, California called CCI or Canine Companions for Independence.
