Nacogdoches Police report catching Memphis duo with pot in trunk

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches Police drug interdiction program nabbed two more suspects in a traffic stop Tuesday morning.

Kendra Shanta Faulkner, 26, and Deroderick Shauntrail Zinn, 29, both of Memphis, Tenn., are each charged with a third-degree felony of possession of marijuana.

According to the police report, an officer stopped a 2001 Chevy four-door car for speeding on the 1700 block of Southwest Stallings Drive at 6:16 a.m. The officer detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car and used probable cause to search the vehicle.

The officer reported finding 11 pounds of marijuana in the trunk area of the car.

Zinn posted a $15,000 bond and Faulkner is being held on a $7,500 bond, as of 10 a.m. Wednesday.
