Nationally Renowned Pastor Visits East Texas

Nationaly renowned minister,  Reverend Randy Spleth, is in Tyler this week sharing his message. Spleth was invited to speak at an annual prayer seminar, hosted by the First Christian Church in Tyler.

Spleth has been a minister for more than 25 years and was one of those chosen to preview Mel Gibson's new movie "The Passion of the Christ".

Despite some negative talk about the films portrayal of the last 12 hours of Christ's life, he expects the reaction to be positive.

"Just from the very fact that everyone is talking about the film it allows people to talk to people about their faith and that in itself will rekindle a lot of communities," Spleth said.

The seminars featuring Reverend Spleth will be held Monday and Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.  He'll also speak at a women's luncheon Monday at Noon. Those events will be held at the First Christian Church located at the corner of Broadway and Loop 323 in Tyler.  Everyone is welcome.
