Sex shop busted for selling synthetic marijuana

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - ABC Agents raided Pleasures, a Huntsville sex shop earlier this month.

Agents discovered around $2,000 worth of synthetic marijuana or spice during the raid on January 7th. They seized around 40 packets of the product. The store claimed they had no idea the spice was illegal to sell and thought they were following the law.

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley issued an Executive Order last October to seize spice off Alabama shelves.

The governor cited health concerns with teens and young adults using spice. Millions of dollars of synthetic marijuana have been removed since that order was passed down.

Last fall, agents raided Pleasures and discovered dozens of grams of spice for sale. It was also seized. The store will not face any further penalty for selling it.
