Soul Food Program At Longview School

It was a day of music, food and learning at a Longview elementary school as part of  Black History Month celebrations. Kids at Bramlette Elementary learned about the contributions of black Americans through history.

Soul food was served early in the day, and music was provided by a choir made up of teachers. Skits were also performed, depicting heroine Harriet Tubman, and a play called "If There Were No Black People" depicted what would have been lost through history.

Organizers say they continue the annual program because it's important for children to remember the contributions of all Americans, no matter their race.
