Al Carrell How-To House On Display

From plumbing, to paint, to pest control, KTBB's 9th annual Al Carrell How-To House has it all. It's an opportunity for the East Texas home-building industry to strut it's stuff.  The house contains all of the latest construction technology, including a hot water circulating system.  A pump constantly circulates hot water throughout the plumbing, providing nearly instantaneous access to hot water.  The system adds convenience and lowers the water bill.

No standard pink fiberglass insulation in this house.  Blown-in Cellulose insulation completely fills the wall cavity resulting in greater efficiency.

There's everything from a Central Vacuum, to hand-painted walls and cabinets, to the latest in kitchen and bathroom components.

The home even has a brand new insect repellant system called The Monstor mosquito System.  It works a lot like an automatic sprinkler system, keeping your patio bug free.

"The main thing is, just try to create something different every time," said Jason Vander Vorste, president of Woodland Builders, and the this year's designer and builder.  "Just try different things, see how people react to them."

The Al Carrell How-To House is located in the Hollytree West Subdivision on Old Jacksonville Highway.  The House is open for tours Monday through Friday from 10am to 6pm, Saturdays from 10am to 5pm, and Sundays Noon to 4pm.  Tours will run through February 22.
