MARSHALL, TX (KSLA) - The Marshall Police Department needs help in solving a pair robberies - one from a local college and one from a school district.

The first theft happened sometime between Jan. 14 and Jan. 16 at Wiley College. The thief or thieves stole spools of copper wiring from the construction site where the college is building new dorms. The copper wiring has an estimated value of over $40,000.

On Tuesday morning, police were called to the Marshall Independent School District Nutrition Building about a stolen truck. The stolen truck is a 2006 Ford F350 box van with license plate number TX LP 209773. It has MISD Nutrition in red letters on both driver and passenger side doors. The truck also has a lift gate at the rear.

The location of the construction site where the copper wiring was stolen is located directly northeast of where the MISD Nutrition Van was parked, which is clearly
visible from the construction site. However police do not know if the two thefts are related.

Anyone with information on the construction site burglary or the MISD stolen truck is asked to call the Marshall Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 903-935-4540. Anonymous calls can be directed to Marshall/Harrison County Crimestoppers at 903-935-9969.
