Morgan City Police say detectives were contacted a week ago by investigators with the Kenner Police Department saying they were working a case in which Rousse was using a computer and soliciting minors online for sexual purposes. According to Kenner Police, the investigation had been going on for nearly a year.

Kenner PD investigators were able to trace the computer's IP address to Rousse's workplace at the First Baptist Church in Morgan City.

Investigators, comprised of MCPD, Kenner PD, LSP and Office of Homeland Security, executed a search warrant at the church for Rousse' computer and the computer was taken Wednesday morning.

The church is located on Victor Two and MLK Blvd.

Rousse was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail and will be transferred back to Kenner.

Rev. Nathan Rush from the First Baptist Church of Morgan City released the following statement Wednesday afternoon:

We are shocked and deeply saddened by the actions of Mitchell Rousse. We express deep regret for any hurts his actions might have caused. We are in full cooperation with local police authorities and have been assured that no local children are involved. His employment at First Baptist Church of Morgan City has been terminated.
