Technology lets students come face to face with Mars engineer

For nearly two weeks, students at Orr Elementary have been crazy about Mars. And, today...it paid off.

Thanks to Skype, these kids came face-to-face with one of the big guys. Matt Heverly is one of the engineers who works in the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, California.

His crew designed and helped launch the rovers that went to study Mars.

The kids here even got a chance to ask him a few questions...and they got some answers.

"I'm excited to learn about Mars and how they invent stuff. Just in case the Earth goes down hill," said student Chakari Knighton.

And, the kids have technology to thank for this opportunity.

"Technology has just been upgrading and now we're able to do stuff like this," said student Christian Berry.
