TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Jury selection for the man accused of shooting an East Texas Sheriff's Deputy has been delayed.

Christopher Summerville is charged with aggravated assault on a public servant.

Back in March, Summerville allegedly shot Smith County Deputy Josh Caulkins during a raid.

Caulkins was wearing a vest that stopped the bullet.

Jury selection was set to begin Wednesday, but has been pushed back to February 6.

Summerville is also under indictment for a separate robbery charge and for failing to register as a sex offender.
