His bond is set at $75,000.

GLADEWATER, TX (KLTV) - Gladewater police have a warrant for the arrest of a Gladewater high school student who they say shot a classmate over the weekend.

Gladewater police say they responded to multiple calls of shots fired at 12:24 a.m. near Bumblebee Park.

Police say when they arrived on the scene, they couldn't find anything.

Police say they then received a second call from people who had taken the victim of the shooting to Highway 80 and Lee Street. An ambulance met the callers at Highway 80 and Lee and the victim, a juvenile, was transported to the hospital. Police say the juvenile had been shot in the face one time.

"I've heard that he is in ICU, stable, but in serious condition," said Gladewater Police Chief Alexander Farrell Monday morning.

Gladewater PD says they do have one suspect and are currently working with Gladewater ISD to locate him. Gladewater ISD tells police the suspect didn't show up at school Monday.

The victim's mother Nicosha Johnson said the two students had been arguing for more than a year and it all started over a girl.

"I'm just angry at the whole situation because all of these are their kids-- all of these things that have been going on.. all tit for tat and this and that and it does not make any sense," said Nicosha.

Doctor's say Nicosha's son is going to be alright, but he may lose sight in one of his eyes.
