Haven Grace Davis continues to touch lives with her story

As her story spreads, Haven Grace Davis continues to touch the hearts of many.

Three-year-old Haven passed away yesterday evening but the inspiring little girl is being remembered by thousands.

KLTV first had the pleasure of meeting Haven and her family in 2009. It was easy to see why over the years she's stolen so many hearts. And in return, to many, been a gift.

"God gave us Haven as a gift for three plus years and we're so thankful for it and it just causes us as parents to treasure our kids that much more and the time that is precious," says Brindra Lekrhaj.

Brindra is a pastor at a Tyler church with Haven's father, Brandon.

It's by faith and glorifying God that friends say Haven's parents, Brandon and Lacy, will make it through.

"As a three-year-old child, it amazes me how much I got to know and understand who Jesus is through this child," says Brindra.

Jesus was someone family and friends say Haven knew well.

From her hospital bed she'd ask people to pray as her following on Facebook grew.

"Her family and everybody has been impacted by her and I'm so thankful that the Lord took her and I know it's going to be so much better," says Brindra.

While Haven has found peace it hasn't been an easy journey. From birth heart complications caused her pain. Last year she received a heart transplant that her body rejected.

"I've just never seen her suffer like she suffered these last few days... just in pain and discomfort and we're going to miss her so much," says Brindra.

But in missing her and grieving, they're also rejoicing-- knowing that in Haven's short three years she made something of her life that was taken too soon.

"I don't know what kind of impact she has made on other people but just knowing her and having her be in our life has been amazing" says Brindra "and we can't wait to see her".

Funeral services for Haven Grace Davis have been set for Monday January 9 at 6 p.m. in the large sanctuary at Green Acres Baptist Church.

A memorial fund has been set up for her parents. Donations can be made at any area Austin Bank. The account name is "Brandon Davis for Haven G. Davis".
