Deliveries High On Day Before Valentines

Guy Hanna is one of the busiest guys in town. Working for Red Barn Flower and Gift Shop in Tyler, it is his job to make sure thousands of dollars in flowers find the right home this Valentines Day. That's why Valentines is no holiday, for this Guy.

"It's a lot of long hours. I went in yesterday around 8 a.m. and got off around 6 p.m. or 6:30 p.m."

Long hours and sometimes scattered directions can make delivering flowers tough, but he said the excitement from the recipient makes it worthwhile.

"Oh yeah it's a lot of fun. I think it's the shock factor, they don't know its coming."

Hanna delivers flowers only during the busy holidays. He works as a corrections officer in the meantime. He said the smiles will keep him coming back.

"I plan on doing this every Valentines day and Mother's Day as long as they let me."

Guy was just one of seven people delivering flowers Friday for Red Barn Flower and Gift Shop in Tyler. The flower shop planned to make more than 250 deliveries Friday. All together, more than $50 million in roses are sold each year on Valentines Day.
