UPDATE: Anderson Co. man in custody, accused of biting daughter in face

ANDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

A Frankston man turned himself into authorities Wednesday afternoon on an injury to a child warrant.

Billy Ray Hicks, 31, is accused of biting his daughter in the face after she tried to break up a fight between him and his common law wife. The incident happened at the couple's home on Kickapoo Street in Frankston on December 26. The dispute was not reported and the mother did not file a report with police until December 29.

The bruising on the child's left cheek was prevalent even three days after the incident when the report was filed. Authorities say Hicks apparently has anger issues. He has never been in the Anderson County Jail.

Anderson County Sheriff's officials believe he could be hiding in Smith County.

Hicks is wanted on an injury to a child warrant and his bond has been set at $25,000.

Crimestoppers is offering a $1000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Hicks.
