(KLTV) - The Texas A&M football team will honor a fallen teammate this weekend when they take the field in their bowl game this weekend.

According to a post by the Aggie Football team on twitter (@AggieFootball), the Aggies will be wearing a helmet decal honoring Jacksonville-native Joseph Villavisencio who died during a car crash last week in Leon County.

Villavisencio collided with an 18-wheeler trying to avoid something in the road. He was returning home to Jacksonville for the holidays at the time of the crash.

Players' helmets will have a decal Villavisencio's number '67' for the Aggies and say "JOEY V." According to interim head coach Tim DeRuyter senior offensive lineman Danny Baker will wear #67 in honor of his teammate.

Villavisencio played high school football at Jacksonville High School.

The Aggies will play the Northwestern Wildcats in the Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas at Reliant Stadium in Houston. Kickoff will be at Noon Saturday.
