Police: ETX woman assaults sister over family jewels

KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - Kilgore Police have arrested an East Texas woman accused of assaulting her sister over some family jewelry.

Kimberley Lynn Briggs, 45 was arrested on Monday and charged with assaulting her older sister at a family member's funeral visitation.

According to the arrest affidavit, Briggs grabbed 54-year-old Debra Gail Goff by the hair and punched her several times before throwing Goff to the floor inside the Chapel of the Radar Funeral Home in Kilgore.

Briggs admitted to physically assaulting Goff over the location of jewelry belonging to the dead family member, according to the arrest affidavit.

Briggs was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury. Her bond was set at $1,000.
