Mistletoe Money Helps The Community

The Junior League of Tyler is making history tonight, thanks to some of your Christmas shopping dollars. This past November, thousands of East Texans came out to its annual Mistletoe and Magic event at Tyler's Harvey Hall. The holiday shopping extravaganza is the Junior League's major fundraiser benefiting dozens of non-profit agencies in the area. The money has now all been counted and, tonight, the Junior League of Tyler announced it raised just more than $379,051. It's the most it has ever raised in this three day event. It will allow them to help even more people, of all ages, this year in the East Texas community.

The president of the Junior League of Tyler, Jane Coker said, "The league is very proud to celebrate 25 years of Mistletoe and Magic. A lot of hard work in years proceeding us has laid the ground work to allow us to hit this record breaking mark."

Last year, the Junior League of Tyler helped 23 non-profit agencies in East Texas. Its members also assist these organizations through volunteering, amounting to about 13,000 hours each year given to our community.
