A Silverback Christmas

TATUM, TX (KLTV) -  Redskins offensive lineman Trent Williams is suspended for the final 4 weeks of the N.F.L. regulars season.  Williams is using his free time to play Santa Claus in his hometown.

Monday night marked the second year for the 'Silverback Christmas' in Longview.  Silverback is Williams' nickname.

Williams and his family treated 35 underprivileged kids, to pizza, and a very special Christmas gift. Williams says it's special to see the smile on each childs face. To make sure every kid is happy, they get to choose their own Christmas present.

"Some of the toy drives, they have a lot of toys that are played out and kids don't use anymore," said Williams.  "I figured might as well take the kids and let them pick what they want. Therefore they don't have to settle for anything. They can go to Toys R Us and it's like a dream for them."

The younger kids were taken to Toys R Us.  The older kids had the option to shop at the Longview mall.
