No arrests made in deadly weekend crash in Smith Co.

UPDATE: DPS officials say they still have not made an arrest or named a suspect in a deadly hit and run crash in Smith County.

DPS says Saturday afternoon, a Dodge pickup collided with a Honda at the intersection of FM 2767 and 757 in Smith County.

The driver of the Honda, identified as 50-year-old Arthur Dewayne Murphy of Tyler, died at a Tyler hospital Saturday night.

Officials say they are interviewing numerous witnesses and possible persons of interest.

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The search continues Monday for a man Smith County authorities say caused a deadly crash, then took off.

DPS says Saturday afternoon, a Dodge pickup collided with a Honda at the intersection of County Road 2767 and  FM 757 in Smith County. 
     
The driver of the Honda, identified as 50-year-old Arthur DeWayne Murphy of Tyler, died at a Tyler hospital Saturday night.

Authorities say the driver of the truck fled the scene on foot, going into some nearby woods. 
Authorities are still working to identify the driver of the truck. If you have any information, call police immediately. 


SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - DPS officials have confirmed with KLTV that police are on the scene of a two vehicle accident near the intersection of County Road 2767 and FM 757 in Smith County.

Officials are currently on the scene. Injuries and the cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
