A Cherokee County man was arrested after firing shots at his neighbor during a dispute.
Around 9:20 am, Tuesday, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Department received shots fired call on County Road 3229. The caller said they heard someone yelling and making threats towards another individual and heard several gunshots.
When deputies arrived on the scene they discovered that the suspect, 53-year-old Johnny Perry, had fired five rounds at his neighbor with a .22 caliber rifle, which struck the passenger side and tailgate of the victim's vehicle.
The victim was not injured. Perry was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Perry was booked into the Cherokee County Jail and his bond has been set at $50,000.
