UPDATE: Elderly fugitive captured in Camp Co.

UPDATE 10:09 AM: An elderly fugitive from Pittsburg who was first spotted in Upshur County this morning was finally captured at 9:40 am, after somehow making it back to Pittsburg, where she was spotted by a motorist in the 500 block of S. Greer.

Sylvia Youngberg is on probation stemming from a charge of Injury to the Elderly in Gregg County, in 2009. She has been living in the Pittsburg Nursing Center for two years. Authorities believe Youngberg had help getting away from the center and also getting back to Pittsburg from Upshur County this morning.

She remains in the Camp County Jail and is expected to be booked on a felony warrant and transported back to Gregg County.

UPDATE: KLTV has just confirmed that the silver alert issued yesterday has been canceled. Authorities say the elderly woman is a felon who is on the run to escape justice.


The Pittsburg Police Department says that Sylvia Youngberg was placed on felony probation in Gregg County in 2009.

Youngberg was on probation stemming from an injury to elderly charge.

An arrest warrant has been issued.

Anyone with knowledge of Youngberg's whereabouts is asked to contact local law enforcement.

PITTSBURG, TX (KLTV) - A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing elderly woman from Pittsburg.

71-year-old Sylvia Youngberg was last seen at approximately 8:00 pm, Tuesday, at the Pittsburg Nursing Center. It is believed she left walking in an unknown direction.

Ms. Youngberg is 5'6" and 185 pounds. She has long gray hair that may be in pulled up in a bun. She is believed to be wearing the clothing in the attached picture with blue jeans.
