Widemon sentenced to 12 years in shooting, murder charge dropped

TYLER, TX (KLTV) – A second man has been sentenced in connection to a shooting at Broadway Square Mall in May.

Terrence Widemon was sentenced to 12 years confinement Monday morning in Jack Skeen's 241st District Courtroom.

Widemon was also facing a murder charge for a case that had been unsolved since 2005, but it was dismissed today in court. The District Attorney's office says Widemon basically solved the 2005 case by the information he gave Tyler Police about the murder of Christopher Horn. He reportedly told authorities Bryante Denard Gee shot and killed Horn.

Investigators believe Gee and Horn began fighting over a "drug deal gone bad." The D.A.'s office said the argument started when Horn grabbed Gee's necklace, they say Gee shot him once and killed Horn.

Gee was sentenced to 20 years in connection to Horn's murder.
