Bikers ride to collect toys for Christmas

(KLTV) -Over 100 motorcycle riders rode from Big Sandy to Kilgore to make sure East Texas children have a good Christmas this season.

"With our economic times there are lots of kids out there that could use a toy," said Rodney Murphy, collecting toys for kids.

So they ride from Big Sandy to Kilgore, collecting toys for kids who might not have a Christmas this year.

"It's very touching to be in a position where you can help people," said Harold "Doolie" Smith, collecting toys for kids.

"It's just wonderful to be in a position where we can give back to kids who are less fortunate and may  not get anything for Christmas," said Magen Miller, collecting toys for kids.

Magen said for the last four years, riders all over East Texas have gotten together with the same purpose, to help the children.

"I had my phone out taking videos of everything because there were so many people it's really cool to see all the bikers get together like that and do this for the kids," said Magen.

Magen says they not only collect gifts that will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Kilgore, they also get to deliver the gifts themselves.

"Seeing kids and being around kids that's what Christmas is all about the kids," said Rodney.

Magen said they plan to drop off all the gifts this Thursday.

If you would like to donate you can drop off gifts at Austin Bank in Kilgore and Kilgore National Bank.
