NOW IF YOU HAVE A KID THAT LIKES TO FISH OR ONE THAT HAS NEVER WET A HOOK, TAKE NOTE, THE 13TH ANNUAL KIDS FISHING DAY SPONSORED BY PARTNERS IN PREVENTION OF THE CITY OF LONGVIEW AND THE TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE WILL BE SATURDAY FEBRUARY 7TH 10AM TO 2PM FOR AGES 3 TO 16. IT WILL BE A GREAT DAY, WE NEED MORE KIDS LEARNING TO FISH, TRY TO TAKE AS MANY AS YOU CAN ROUND UP. FISHING HAS REALLY BEEN OFF AND ON AT MOST LAKES, SOME CONCERN WITH LOW WATER LEVELS, EVEN THE HOT WATER LAKES HAVE SEEN THE FISH MOVE IN AND OUT OF THE SHALLOWS. LETS LOOK AT A FEW

MARTIN CREEK LAKE

CLEAR WATER, 64 TO 73 DEG WITH BLACK BASS GOOD TO 6LBS ON RAT-L-TRAPS AND PUMPKINSEED JIGS OR WORMS IN 12FT. CRAPPIE GOOD ON MINNOWS AND JIGS FISHED DEEP. CATFISH GOOD ON BREAM AND STINKBAIT.

LAKE PALESTINE

CLEAR AT 52 DEG AND 2FT. LOW WITH BLACK BASS FAIR ON WHITE/CHARTREUSE SPINNERBAITS AND SHAD PATTERN CRANKBAITS. CRAPPIE FAIR ON MINNOWS AND JIGS. CATFISH FAIR ON TROTLINES WITH LIVE PERCH. HYBRID STRIPER SLOW ON LIVE SHAD AND SLABS.

CEDAR CREEK LAKE

STAINED WATER AT 52 DEG. AND 3FT LOW WITH BLACK BASS FAIR ON CRANKBAITS AND SPINNERBAITS. WHITE BASS FAIR TO GOOD ON SLABS AND LIVE BAIT. HYBRID STRIPER SLOW ON SLABS AND LIVE SHAD. CRAPPIE FAIR ON MINNOWS AND JIGS. CATFISH FAIR ON CUT SHAD AND NIGHTCRAWLERS.

LAKE O' THE PINES

WATER STAINED AT 49 DEG. 2FT. LOW WITH BLACK BASS FAIR ON JIGGING SPOONS AND BLACK/BLUE JIGS OR WORMS. CRAPPIE ARE GOOD ON MINNOWS AND JIGS IN 25 TO 35FT. CATFISH GOOD ON STINKBAIT AND BREAM.

LAKE FORK

CLEAR AT 53 DEG. WITH BLACK BASS SLOW ON WHITE/CHARTREUSE OR WHITE 3/8 OUNCE FRANK JOHNSON SPINNERBAITS IN THE BACK OF COVES AND CREEKS. SOME ON RED COLORS OF RATTLETRAPS AND SMALL CRANKBAITS OVER AND ON THE EDGES OF GRASS. CRAPPIE FAIR TO GOOD ON JIGS AND MINNOWS AROUND BRIDGE PILINGS, CHECK WITH "THE CRAPPIE GUIDE" TERRI MOON FOR SURE.
