UPDATE: Suspects' ID's released in drive-by shooting

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Tyler Police responded to a drive-by shooting call in Southeast Tyler Tuesday afternoon.

Officials tell KLTV that a caller reported that someone in a Gold Chevy pick-up truck fired shots at the 13th Step Tattoo shop on East Fifth Street--just blocks away from Tyler Junior College, Moore Middle School, and Bell Elementary.

No one was inside the tattoo shop at the time of the shooting.

Tyler Police say the caller was able to give dispatch a partial license plate number, which led police to locating the vehicle at 1505 S. Vine Street.

Authorities determined that the three individuals were responsible for the shots fired upon 13th Step when an semi-automatic 9mm handgun along with several spent shell casings were found in the suspect vehicle.

Three males have been arrested and are being transported back to the police station.

Reportedly, one of the suspects admitted to police that the three were responsible for the shooting.

Tyler Police say the suspects responsible have been identified as Steven Dewayne Ratliff, 24, of Tyler, and John Currier, 40, of Tyler.

Ratliff was charged with deadly conduct, prohibited weapon, possession of marijuana, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Currier was arrested for a parole violation out of California.

The third subject has not been charged at this time.
