Civil War era gun amongst recovered stolen goods in Van Zandt Co.

VAN ZANDT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Van Zandt County officials say they've recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen property, including a gun dating back to the Civil War.

Van Zandt County Constable Pat Jordan says Wesley Yarbrough is charged with burglary of a habitation.

Jordan said a tip that he was selling stolen property led them to the arrest.

Yarbrough was arrested at his home south of Canton off Highway 19.

Officials say the victims were most concerned over a family heirloom that had been passed down for six generations-- a gun that was used by one of their family members during the civil war.

Authorities say they believe Yarbrough is responsible for stealing the items they have recovered, and about $20,000 worth of property has been recovered so far.
