Do you still mail your bills? Change is coming

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - If you tend to wait until the last minute to mail off things like bills or birthday cards, you'll have to start planning ahead if you want them to arrive on time.

The Postal Service is proposing service changes in an effort to cut back on billion dollar losses.

Under the proposed changes, first class mail that normally takes one to two days, will now take two to three days to deliver.

Postal officials say letters and bills mailed from East Texas to Dallas or Shreveport would also take a day longer than they do right now.

And next day mailing would no longer be an option at US Post Offices.

If approved, the changes would take affect in mid-April, so no holiday mailing would be affected.
