Released by the Eastern District of Texas Court:

TYLER, Texas – A 49-year-old Mexican National has been sentenced to federal prison for failing to register as a sex offender in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.

Concepcion Baldelamar pleaded guilty on Aug. 9, 2011, to failure to register under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act and was sentenced to six months in federal prison on Nov. 30, 2011, by U.S. District Judge Michael H. Schneider.

According to information presented in court, in April 2011, Baldelamar was found to be in the United States after having been previously deported to Mexico following a conviction in Camp County, Texas for indecency with a child by sexual contact. Baldelamar failed to register as a sex offender, as required, upon his illegal re-entry to the United States in March 2009. He was indicted by a federal grand jury on June 2, 2011.
