Cowboys legend in Longview

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -  Before Dez Bryant and Michael Irvin, there was only one number 88 for the Dallas Cowboys.  Drew Pearson was the original playmaker.

The three time all pro and Super Bowl champ was in East Texas Thursday.  Pearson was the keynote speaker for the East Texas Small Business Conference in Longview.  Pearson spoke about his impressive football career and his transition into the business world.

After signing some autographs, the newest member into the Cowboys Ring of Honor gave us his thoughts on this years Cowboys team.

"I've just got a good feeling about this team," said Pearson.  "I think they're doing it the right way ever since Jason Garrett took over. Change the culture and attitude of these guys and make them accountable and work a little harder. Football at the pro level is not easy and to have that edge over your opponent, you've got to be prepared and do the little things. That's what Jason Garrett is doing."
