UPDATE: Name of pedestrian hit at busy intersection released

UPDATE 12:17 PM: Tyler police have released the name of the man involved in an auto pedestrian accident. Gregory Hugh Burke, 65, was struck by a minivan while attempting to cross the street at Troup and Shiloh. He remains in critical condition at a Tyler hospital. Burke lives at the Waterton Inn, which is a "come and go" Assisted Living facility.

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Tyler police were called to the scene of a pedestrian accident Tuesday night at around 6:20 p.m.

Police confirm that a man in his sixties was hit by a minivan at the intersection of Shiloh Road and Troup Highway in Tyler. Officers say he was not using a crosswalk.

Right now, Police have not released the man's name, but we're told he was taken to a Tyler hospital in serious condition with potentially life-threatening injuries.

The woman driving the minivan was not hurt.
