AUSTIN, TX - Yesterday afternoon,
state Sen. Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) officially filed for
re-election to represent Senate District 3.
"It is an honor to serve the
people of Senate District 3, and I am asking for your support as I seek another
term in office," said Nichols.
Nichols brings a broad range of
practical experience to his work as senator. He served for eight years on the
Texas Transportation Commission, where he established a reputation for
increasing efficiency without compromising quality. In his hometown of
Jacksonville, Nichols earned 32 patents and built four successful manufacturing
facilities, which created more than 900 jobs. He served as a member of the city
council and later as mayor. Nichols currently sits on the boards of Lon
Morris College, the East Texas Medical Center - Jacksonville, and the Nan
Travis Hospital Foundation.
Nichols
said he looks forward to the campaign ahead.
