AUSTIN, TX - Yesterday afternoon, state Sen. Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) officially filed for re-election to represent Senate District 3.

"It is an honor to serve the people of Senate District 3, and I am asking for your support as I seek another term in office," said Nichols.

Nichols brings a broad range of practical experience to his work as senator. He served for eight years on the Texas Transportation Commission, where he established a reputation for increasing efficiency without compromising quality. In his hometown of Jacksonville, Nichols earned 32 patents and built four successful manufacturing facilities, which created more than 900 jobs. He served as a member of the city council and later as mayor. Nichols currently sits on the boards of Lon Morris College, the East Texas Medical Center - Jacksonville, and the Nan Travis Hospital Foundation.

Nichols said he looks forward to the campaign ahead.
