Sex offender arrested for breaking into LeTourneau

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - A registered sex offender is back behind bars after allegedly breaking into LeTouneau University.

According to authorities, 51-year-old Robert Roy "Trey" Saurenmann III was arrested after he broke into a University men's dormitory on Saturday and attempted to take improper photos in the bathroom.

When approached by an officer, Saurenmann admitted he was not a student or employee of the University. He told the officer he gained entry into the controlled-access building by following a student through the doorway, however no student was aware that he was in the building until he was found in the second floor bathroom. Saurenmann told the officer he went into the dormitory bathroom to take a shower.

Saurenmann has an extensive criminal history and is a Registered Sex Offender. He was convicted of indecency with a child and sentenced to six-years in prison in 2001.

Saurenmann's bond has been set at $10,000.
