Decorated Col. Oliver North is speaking to a sold out crowd at UT-Tyler tonight. The former Marine and U.S. Counter-Terrorism Coordinator is the host of the FOX News show, "War Stories With Oliver North." He spoke to students on campus this afternoon. North helped plan U.S. raids on terrorist bases in Libya and served on President Ronald Reagan's National Security Council. North says no President serving during a time of war has endured as much criticism as President Bush.
"No one ever said the kinds of things about the Commander in Chief that are being said about this Commander in Chief," North said. "They didn't use 4-letter expletives to describe his policies. They didn't describe his motives as being wrong, like a fraud couped up in Texas."
North says the current war on terror is a war the U.S. must win, or else we will see terror like we have never seen before, in the years to come.
North is a native Texan, originally from San Antonio. Tonight at 8, he'll deliver the last in UT-Tyler's distinguished lecture series.

In other college football news, Elkhart native and North Texas running back Jeffrey Wilson scored two touchdowns and had over 70 rushing yards in UNT's win over Army on Saturday.
