3 Hospitalized as SUV crashes into Kilgore building

LONGVIEW,TX (KLTV)- 3 people are now hospitalized after a crash of an SUV into a Kilgore building. Around 2:30 this afternoon the SUV slammed into the ABC auto parts store at the intersection of Stone road and highway 259 in Longview. Witnesses say the driver of the SUV was coming through the intersection when he suddenly lost control and began to speed up, crashing through the glass front at ABC auto parts.

"There were people walking outside of the building as well as the people inside they had no idea they weren't looking outside , they were doing what they were doing they had no idea a vehicle would be crashing through," says Kilgore police officer Veronica Wheeler.

A customer was just coming out of the front door when the SUV hit, knocking him back inside. The driver was trapped.

"Kilgore fire department came and had to cut the driver out of the vehicle," Wheeler says.

An ABC employee was also hit inside as the vehicle crashed through the glass.

"The victims they had no idea just kind of all of the sudden just happened right in front of them," says Wheeler.

Police are amazed more people were hurt.

"Because there are people inside people walking around the building during the incident," Wheeler says.

The driver and two other victims were all transported to Good Shepherd Medical center in Longview. The names and conditions of the driver and victims have not been released, but police say their injuries were serious enough for all to be hospitalized.
