E. Texas doctor surrenders medical license

LUFKIN, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas doctor has voluntarily surrendered his license to practice medicine after failing to meet the terms of an Agreed Order stemming from a disciplinary action by the Texas Medical Board in April 2010.

Doyle Hubbard Brashear of Lufkin, was disciplined in April of last year for failing to maintain adequate medical records and failing to follow board rules on the treatment of pain.

Last April, Brashear, a psychiatrist, entered into an Agreed Order that required him to cease treatment of chronic pain for patients and complete eight hours of CME in medical record-keeping.

Earlier this month, Brashear opted to voluntarily permanently surrender his medical license in lieu of fulfilling the terms of his April 2010 Agreed Order.
