PATH Coat's for Kids pick-up this weekend

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The weather's getting colder, and a local East Texas organization is handing out free coats for Smith County children this weekend.

The coats collected during PATH's Coats for Kids annual October coat drive will be available for pick-up this Saturday and Sunday at their distribution center at 2235 West Gentry Parkway in Tyler.

If you live in or very close to Smith County, your child is eligible for a free coat.

All you have to do is go to their distribution center this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. or on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Each adult must bring a photo ID and piece of mail that verifies your address is in Smith county. Also, a legal document is required for each child receiving a coat.

And despite the recent warm weather, event organizers want parents to come and wait in line for these coats.

"In another couple of weeks it will be very cold. We have a lot of coats, a lot of coats. So we want parents to go ahead and bring their children to get coats this weekend. They're free of charge," says Becky Duncan, PATH's Community Outreach Organizer.
