Dogs Seized From East Texas Home

More than 100 dogs spent months living in what officials say is some of the worst conditions they've ever seen. Today, those dogs were taken from their East Texas home. Renee and Randall Moore own Moore's Precious Puppies in Ben Wheeler. Their home is located on Highway 64, just east of CR 314.

Renee and her husband, Randal run the shop from their Ben Wheeler home. They also breed dogs which they then sell.

With no food or water, these animals have been forced to live outside in the elements for what officials say could have been months. Authorities in Van Zandt County have been investigating the property for about a year. The Moores' daughter says what they found today is no indication of her mother's love for the animals. But with no food or water, and surrounded by filth, officials say it's no way to care for animals you love. Authorities say under Texas law, if an animal has to live, eat and sleep in it's own feces, then that's against the law.

The Dallas SPCA is evaluating and treating all 108 of the dogs, as well as two horses found on the property.

A hearing will be held Wednesday to determine if animal cruelty charges will be filed. If they are, the SPCA will get control of the animals.
