Some parents with children at John Tyler high school say they're angry tonight about getting word from their principal he's been asked to resign.
According to the parents we spoke with, Dr. Aubrey Todd was told last Friday by Superintendent Dr. David Simmons, to turn in his resignation by April 1st.
We contacted TISD but they won't confirm or deny anything, because they say this is a human relations issue for the board.
John Johnson, a parent of a freshman at John Tyler says the news made him angry: "For a man to have vision, no disciplinary problems. I think it is just ludicrous someone would remove him just for the sake of making a change. We do not need changes at John Tyler. All we need are resources for Dr. Todd to be able to input the vision that he's already designed for John Tyler."
We tried to get in touch with Dr. Todd for comment, but were unable to reach him. We asked TISD if a person was asked to resign their position, when the information would become public knowledge. They said the information is usually revealed at school board meetings. The next meeting is January 22.
