(KLTV) - This weekend, strong gusty winds are expected across East Texas which may cause some localized power outages.
We spoke with Oncor officials today and they tell us because of the strong winds, localized power outages are expected as the result of downed power lines.
Winds this weekend are expected to be sustained between 10 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. This is caused by a strong pressure gradient between an area of high pressure to our East and an area of low pressure to our Northwest.
These winds are expected to remain high throughout the weekend, so it is important to remember that if you do experience a power outage, report it to your electrical company.
Also if you see downed power lines, do not go near them, call police and fire officials so they can properly take care of them.
