Make-A-Wish sends ETX girl to Disneyworld

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - One East Texas little girl was given the surprise of a lifetime Tuesday when Make-A-Wish officials granted her wish to go to Disneyworld.

Tracy Davis looks like any other regular 8-year-old except she was born with a rare condition.

"She was born with a severe heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart syndrome and she had her first open heart surgery when she was three days old and she's had two other open heart surgeries since then," said Shelly Davis, Tracy's mother.

So Tracy made a wish to go to Disneyworld with her family. Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas, her wish came true.

"The look of shock on her face and she couldn't even speak for a few seconds which is not usual for her," said Duane Davis, Tracy's father.

"I was saying yesterday it felt like Christmas Eve. I've been as excited to see her expression and reaction as I am that she gets to go on the trip," said Shelly.

Even though Tracy just got the news, she and her mom are already listing the things they plan to do on their trip.

"We have to see princesses and we got to get their autographs we have to go to Cinderella's castle and we might even see if we can get a birthday cake while we're there," said Shelly.

The Davis family leaves for Disneyworld Wednesday morning, and plan to be there for a little over a week.
