UPDATE: Passenger says thank you to rescue crews

UPDATE: RED RIVER COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A passenger on the plane that had to make an emergency in Red River County last week has contacted us and provided an image of the plane.

"Thank you to everyone in the area, especially Joyce Wilson, for all of the help in finally locating us," says passenger Bill Berger.

The plane was trailered out Monday.

UPDATE: RED RIVER COUNTY (TX) - A pilot walked away with no injuries this evening after having to make an emergency landing in Red River County due to a bad motor.

According to the Clarksville Fire Department, the pilot was able to land the plane in an empty pasture.

Authorities say the pilot communicated with dispatch who sent out aerial assistance.

A firefighter on the scene says if the pilot had waited much longer to land the plane, he would have missed the open pasture and could have ended up in a much more dangerous situation.

He says the pilot is very lucky to walk away unharmed.

TITUS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The Titus County Sheriff's Office is looking for a plane crash.

They have asked for aerial assistance from a medical chopper to look northeast of Talco.

The chopper will try to locate aircraft from above.

We are being told the pilot is talking to dispatch.

The details are just coming in. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
