Timberbrook Residents Continue without Water

Life continues to be rough for residents of Timberbrook as they struggle to bring in water daily for their needs.

"Its been rough though, we can't wash clothes for our kids for school, its been rough," said longtime resident Michelle Myers.

They've had to do whatever they can to do things we take for granted, like bathe.

"We go to the truck stop to take showers," said fellow resident Katina Maglott.  "I've rented a motel here and there.  We've been doing all we can."

Local businesses have been their only resource, and business owners like Tim Parker have been glad to offer water for residents, even letting residents wash in his facilities.  He wishes he could do more, knowing their hardship.

"With all their kids having to go from here to there to get showers and that kind of thing," said Parker, "not be able to flush their toilets without shipping water in.  I just couldn't do it."

A Red Cross delivery yesterday takes care of their drinking water for awhile, but it won't last long. They're trying to raise enough money to have a new system put in by Gum Springs water supply.  While they wait , they hope there are more people like Tim Parker out there.  If you'd like to help, you can make a donation to the Timberbrook Drive Water Fund at the First State Bank of Hallsville.
