East Texan runs through Washington

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -   Anne Pileggi spends much of her time at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital.  Pileggi is the TMF Administrative Director of System Imaging Services.  It may not sound exciting, but the 55 year old has an exciting time outside of the work place.

Pileggi loves to compete and spent the weekend in Washington D.C. running 26 miles in the Marine Corps Marathon.  She chose the race because of the tenth anniversary of September 11th.

Over 22 thousand runners competed with Pileggi finishing 18th in her age group.  She's raced in many events but says this one was really special.

"Starting by the Pentagon and then to Georgetown and into Washington D.C. and past all the major monuments," said Pileggi of the run.  "And finishing in Arlington by the Marine memorial. My husband saw some pictures of me and said you we're smiling the whole time you must have been having fun. I said I was having fun until the last 6 miles."

Pileggi says her next competition will take her to Puerto Rico.
