Rusk Co. woman sentenced for dealing meth

TYLER, Texas – A 35-year-old Mt. Enterprise, Texas woman has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.

Ivana Robinson Adkins pleaded guilty on Jan. 31, 2011, to possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture methamphetamine and was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Leonard E. Davis.

According to information presented in court, Adkins traveled to multiple pharmacies in the Eastern District of Texas to purchase cold pills containing pseudoephedrine, all in furtherance of her methamphetamine manufacturing activities. Adkins was indicted by a federal grand jury on May 5, 2010.

This case was investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Criminal Investigations Division and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank Coan.
