TYLER, TX (KLTV) - New details are emerging in a major drug and theft case that has already put one East Texan in jail.

Authorities arrested 30-year-old Clinton Daniel McCaa Wednesday on property theft charges, after they raided his home.

Officials say McCaa is linked to a massive DPS warehouse raid back in July.

An old warehouse in northern Smith County, formerly the home of Consolidated Nurseries is listed in the arrest affidavit.

Much of the investigation is based upon reports that some items stolen from the warehouse were allegedly traded for drugs to McCaa.

Off camera, Clinton McCaa's family told us the accusations against their son have torn them up.

According to the arrest affidavit, McCaa rented a storage unit, where he held thousands of dollars worth of stolen property.

DPS raided the unit allegedly belonging to McCaa in July.

His family says they don't understand. They say McCaa never had a storage building there.

But according to court documents, some of the items listed match what was reported stolen from this storage area in northern Tyler.

And at this hour, jail records indicate, McCaa, who's also known as "Screech" or "Curly," is still in the Smith County Jail.

According to the arrest affidavit, numerous thieves targeted this area from December 2010, up until this past June.

The affidavit also estimates that about $20,000 worth of property was stolen from here.

Right now, authorities have not said if any other arrests are planned in this case.

McCaa is being held on $15,000 bond in the Smith County Jail.
