Palestine police investigate armed robbery

PALESTINE, TX (KLTV) - The Palestine Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that took place on the evening of October 27, 2011.

The initial report indicated that at approximately 2150 hours an unknown black male entered the Pitt Stop # 2 located at 1221 North Link St. in Palestine, Texas. The subject was wearing a dark shirt, dark jeans and a bandanna covering parts of his face and a second bandanna his head. The subject was also armed with a handgun. The subject directed the firearm at the store clerk and demanded the money from the cash register. After taking the money the subject left the store and ran behind the store. The subject continued west bound until he was out of sight.

The clerk complied with the subject's demands and gave him the cash from the register. The subject was able to get away with an undetermined amount of money.

Officers responded to the Pitt Stop and the surrounding area. A search was conducted however; the subject has not been located at this time. There is an ongoing investigation into this incident.
